A recent study found that iron and vitamin B12 deficiency in boys around age 8 could lead to behavioral problems later in childhood. “Iron deficiency is still prevalent in many parts of the world,” said study director Eduardo Villamor. “There is less data on vitamin B12 deficiency, but evidence suggests that it may be an important public health issue in some populations.”
